PREPARE! What is your purpose?
Oprah Winfrey encourages us to know who we are, to know your purpose, to know your goals. And then to plan and prepare!
She says that she leaves nothing to chance, and if you want to get somewhere, then you need to do something, and to plan and prepare. She has got to where she is, by being stretched and doing the whole 9 yards! So if you want to be successful and help others, then you have to take ACTION! To get motivated you must have goals, plans and dreams, with ACTION! Things will not get served up to you on a plate! YOU have to step out , take risks, prepare to be laughed at, but have the guts and determination to press on, keep going until you succeed! YOU need grit and determination. Fly in the face of danger, fear, what others think etc, as it really is all up to you! You must take 100% responsibility for your own life. I believe LIFE is worth living, and if it takes more action, then it is WORTH it! So come on, let's get going!
I am excited as I see, bit by bit, my circle of influence is growing. Not because I want to be famous or a big shot, but because I care and want to help others. I am learning that caring begins at home, as if you have not looked after yourself, then you are not in a position to take care of others! It is a long road to recovery when you have been hurt, wounded and damaged by circumstances. But also know that "this is NOT the time to host a pity party!" It IS the time to take stock, look around you and see what you need to do to your own life, so that you can make progress for yourself, and then be an example to others. If you can, they can too!
Let me tell you that over the last 2 years I have changed and grown in myself. I have written a book, with another on the way! I have become an international speaker, with my posts going out all over the world! It is amazing that the messages that are put out there, are being received and folks are getting encouraged and beginning to take action for themselves! This is so exciting, that the words you speak can impact others all over the planet! Words of encouragement are powerful too! Use your gifts to make a positive influence to others, be encouraging, uplifting, and supportive. This world has enough negativity in it, so you can reverse that and be positively charged and bring about a whole new way of looking at things!
People respond to kindness, smiles and encouragement. We all love to receive it, and if we are generous with it, we will get some back as well! Basically it is a win-win situation! You can give out to others, and for sure, you will receive encouragement back! It is so true that it is more blessed to give than receive, but there are times when it is so good to know that your giving is being received in a positive way! Which only goes to motivate you to keep going and to keep on giving!
Bless you today, have a great week, and please check in again for some more positive words of encouragement and affirmation!

HEARTS ON FIRE
Today there was a reading that exhorted us to have our hearts on FIRE for the Lord.
In the Bible there are many references to FIRE. I love the fact that God led the Israelites with a pillar of Fire at night and a Pillar of Cloud during the day. This was how the Israelites navigated their journey through the wilderness, by following God's guidance. Unfortunately guidance today is not so clear, but we can ask for guidance, nevertheless and God is very much wanting to help us on a day to day basis, if we will only ask!
In fact if you invite the Holy Spirit to help you, watch out for you will be in for a ride! The journey may Not be the one you thought it would be, but trust and rest, as God has got your back, and He has your best interests at heart. In fact He has a plan and purpose for you and it may well start today. If you are ready, then be bold and ask Him to lead you and guide you!
I heard the Lord tell me to be a voice, to speak out and to teach! Right now I am talking in public more than I have ever done! I am posting on social media and meeting new people all the time! Plus I am now teaching English to children in China, online! If you had told me that I would be doing all that two years ago, I would not have believed it all! So you just never know, but you must be open, willing and available to the Living God. Trust in Him and He will show you the steps to take, the path to follow and the doors to go through!
At the moment, I am still struggling with several things, and that is totally all right! It is normal to be facing issues of one kind or another, the thing is that all though there is a lot going on, there is still the ONE in whom I trust, and He is in control! Even if I stuff up and make a mess of things, I can still trust Him to get me out of the mess, and to make it way better than I thought! I don't know how, but I do know that I can trust in Him for everything!
Plan to day to make Him your ROCK and lean on Him in every occasion, through thick and thin! He is only a prayer away!
Bless you, have an awesome day!

INSPIRING
It is extremely helpful to talk about plans, ideas and options with like minded people! I had the privilege of discussing plans for a webinar and ongoing ideas with two vibrant and bright young women.
They were so quick with ideas and ongoing options, it was such a delight talking with them! Now I have yet more ideas to keep the imagination fired up and the motivation process stimulated yet the more! So much to do!
It seems the more I do , the more I get asked to do .. so I must learn the art of prioritising and also the art of saying "NO" so that I don't get too swamped with things to do! It is vital for one's own mental health to be wise, and not to take on too much! I need to declutter my living space as well as my life, there is so much to be said for this! My sister-in-law is a minimalist, she cannot stand clutter. It is true that when the house/room/office is tidier, it is easier to think and to be more logical. I love it when I have had a good tidy up, but it still takes effort to keep it that way!
Where do all the papers come from? Sometimes I feel swamped by them all!
Filing was never my strong point, but when the papers are all tidied and put in their place, it is very satisfying! With the added advantage that I can find them again when I need them! I hate looking for some paperwork amongst a stack of papers, but if I know they are neatly filed, it is so much easier to put ones hand on them straight away!
So today was inspiring, giving clarity of thought, with new ideas to stretch what I had thought about to even bigger thoughts and inspiration! Sometimes we do not dream big enough, and sometimes the dreams seem to get bigger as you go along, and the end result is way bigger than at first conceived!
Maybe that is the same in life, you dream of getting married and having children, and when they come along, the baby is so small... and then they grow and so the ambition and dreams grow too!
Never give up on your dreams, and don't limit yourself to small things, as the bigger the better! Dream big and you will be amazed at what gets achieved!
Therefore I encourage you today to dream big, be inspired and then work out strategies to make things happen! This week I am aiming to get blown out to the water by new ideas, bigger dreams, and the way forward!
Have a great week!

INSPIRE
Last night I listened to one of the apparent greats of inspirational motivation in this time. He is full of all that he has done, and rightly so, he has impacted 1.000's of peoples' lives and made a fortune whilst doing it!
Does that mean he is totally right?
NO!
There are lots of other sources that one can gain inspiration and healing from. So look around you, find the one or two that really inspire you. Then follow their example. Become their disciple if you like, but make sure that you are following someone that you like and trust. It is no good listening to someone if you don't trust or agree with what they are saying! YOU must find someone that you like to be your mentor or example, and then follow their teaching, so that you can glean as much as you can from their experience, and then you build from that, and once you have outgrown their teaching, look for another person who is further up the ladder, and grow some more!
It is vital that you have dreams, and dream big!
Michelangelo said:
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that our aim is too low and we reach it!"
"To create a balanced and successful life, your vision needs to include the following seven areas: a) work and career, b) finances, c) health and fitness, d) relationships, e) personal goals, f) recreation and free time and g) contribution to the larger community.
If you get clear on the what,, the how will show up!" quote from Jack Canfield.
Therefore set your goals and work out step by step bite size strategies to get there! If you don't aim high, you may be settling for second best, If you do aim high and miss, at least you will still be amongst the stars! (Misquote from Les Brown)
So aim high, dream BIG and have fun!

FOCUS
There are many things to distract one in this day and age! It is easy to flick through your connections on face book, and get side tracked, and before you know it, another hour has whizzed by, which you will never get back!
Timing and planning is key!
Make a set time to answer email, attend to Facebook posts, schedule Blogging articles and post on twitter. Make sure that you are disciplined and stick to your plan. Allot so much time for these tasks, and then move on to the other tasks you have set yourself for the day! I am talking to myself as much as to anyone reading this, as we all need to focus and be more disciplined in our approach to social media, as otherwise, it will get away with you and before you know it you have just spent 30 minutes on the game that you were not going to play again today!
Know what I mean? Yes, so now is the time to focus on all that training you have got for free or have signed up for and to start implementing action!
Love the inspiration and support you can receive from mentors and fellow workers, so keep on keeping on and encourage others to press in to their goals too!
Distraction can come in many forms as you very well know, so choose a time when these distractions will be limited or minimal, and press on with the tasks on your to-do list!
Once again, I must remind you that Persistence, Determination and Consistency are key!
Keep these to the forefront of your mind and press on!
Let me encourage you today to stay focused and keep your eyes on your goals!
Have a great day!!

9 Ways Multitasking is Killing Your Brain
9 Ways Multitasking is Killing Your Brain and Productivity, According to Neuroscientists.
9 reasons why multitasking is bad for you.
By
- Mayo Oshin, Juggling ideas at the intersection of science, art and philosophy. Trying to be less wrong and live a better life @ Mayooshin.Com

We’d like to think that we can multitask — respond to emails, text messages, toggle between multiple tabs on a browser and scroll through social media feeds, whilst working on important tasks — but, our brains would say otherwise.
According to neuroscientists, our brains aren’t built to do more than one thing at a time. And when we try to multitask, we damage our brains in ways that negatively affect our well-being, mental performance and productivity.
Here are nine ways multitasking is killing your brain and productivity.
1. Multitasking can lead to permanent brain damage
A study from the University of Sussex (UK) compared the brain structure of participants with the amount of time they spent on media devices i.e. texting or watching TV. [1]
The MRI scans of the participants, showed that the high multitaskers had less brain density in the anterior cingulate cortex. This is the brain region responsible for empathy and emotional control.

The lead researcher and neuroscientist, Kep Kee Loh, said, “I feel that it is important to create an awareness that the way we are interacting with the devices might be changing the way we think and these changes might be occurring at the level of brain structure.”
The implication of their findings, is that multitasking, especially involving the use of media devices, could permanently alter brain structure after a long period of usage.
2. Multitasking reduces efficiency and mental performance
According to Earl Miller, a neuroscientist at MIT and one of the world’s leading experts on human cognition, attention and learning, “when we toggle between tasks, the process often feels seamless, but in reality, it requires a series of small shifts.” [2]
Each small shift leads to a cognitive cost. For example, each time you switch between responding to emails and writing an important paper, you’re draining precious brain resources and energy.
Miller’s advice is to avoid multitasking, because “It ruins productivity, causes mistakes, and impedes creative thought…. As humans, we have a very limited capacity for simultaneous thought, we can only hold a little bit of information in the mind at any single moment.”
To reinforce Miller’s point, another study conducted in the University of California, discovered that it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to refocus on a task after an interruption. [3]
And that’s just one interruption! Imagine the amount of time that could go to waste from repetitive interruptions throughout a day.
Next time you’re about to switch between tasks, do the maths and keep this in mind.
3. Multitasking reduces focus and concentration
According to neuroscientist and New York Times best-selling author Daniel Levitin, “Multitasking creates a dopamine-addiction feedback loop, effectively rewarding the brain for losing focus and for constantly searching for external stimulation.”[4]
Levitin suggests that the same regions of the brain that we need to stay focused on a task, are also easily distracted.
Each time we multitask — by browsing the internet, scrolling on social media feeds, checking emails and so on — we train our brains to lose focus and get distracted.
Here’s the bad news. Just like the effects of a drug, our brains can get addicted to the dopamine rush from switching tasks and losing focus. Once this happens, it becomes very difficult to break the cycle.
4. Multitasking could make you dumber
A study conducted by the University of London, found that participants who multitasked, experienced drops in IQ points, down to the average level of an 8-year old child. [5]
Next time you’re about to multitask, whilst writing an important email or paper, think about the possibility that there wouldn’t be much difference between the quality of your work and that of an 8-year-old child.
Studies have also shown that multitasking also hinders learning. In 2011, researchers, Reynol Junco and Shelia R. Cotton, published a study on the effects of multitasking on academic performance.
They found that on average, students who used Facebook and responded to texts, whilst doing schoolwork, had a lower GPA and grades, than those who didn’t. [6]
The researchers noted that, “Human information processing is insufficient for attending to multiple input streams and for performing simultaneous tasks.”
Since quality focus and attention is required for learning, multitasking hinders our ability to learn and interpret information effectively.
5. Multitasking creates stress and anxiety
Various studies have shown that multitasking increases our brain’s production of cortisol, a hormone that creates stress.
Once we’re stressed and mentally fatigued, anxiety builds up. And this leads to stress builds up. It’s a vicious cycle of constant stress and anxiety.
But, not all multitasking activities are equally stressful. By far one of the main stressors is email inbox. Excess cortisol is produced, when we switch between reading and responding to emails.
If you struggle with stress and anxiety, declutter your email inbox as soon as possible.
6. Multitasking kills creativity
Neuroscientist Earl Miller suggests that multitasking could hinder creativity and innovation: “Innovative thinking, after all, comes from extended concentration…. When you try to multitask, you typically don’t get far enough down any road to stumble upon something original because you’re constantly switching and backtracking.”
Creative juice is wasted by switching between tasks. And, breakthrough ideas, which may have crossed your path, would pass you by, during moments of multitasking.
7. Multitasking could reduce emotional intelligence
According to extensive research conducted by Travis Bradberry, best-selling author and emotional intelligence expert, emotional intelligence is a common trait within 90 percent of top performers in any field. [7]
Bradberry suggests that multitasking could damage the part of the brain — anterior cingulate cortex — responsible for emotional intelligence.

In addition, the two key components of emotional intelligence, self and social awareness, could diminish significantly due to multitasking.
8. Multitasking causes overwhelm and burnout
According to neuroscientist Daniel Levitin, multitasking is taxing on the brain and drains precious energy, “Asking the brain to shift attention from one activity to another causes the prefrontal cortex and striatum to burn up oxygenated glucose, the same fuel they need to stay on task. And the kind of rapid, continual shifting we do with multitasking causes the brain to burn through fuel so quickly that we feel exhausted and disoriented after even a short time. We’ve literally depleted the nutrients in our brain.”
If you’ve ever wondered why you feel constantly tired, even after a long vacation or a good night of sleep, now you know why.
9. Multitasking leads to stupid decisions
Multitasking also hurts decision-making skills. By constantly switching between tasks, precious “willpower muscle” is depleted.
This leads to the build up of decision fatigue, a psychological term referring to the deterioration of quality decisions, after you’ve made a long series of decisions.[8]
According to neuroscientist Daniel Levitin, multitasking could also lead to impulsive behaviour and bad decisions, “One of the first things we lose is impulse control. This rapidly spirals into a depleted state in which, after making lots of insignificant decisions, we can end up making truly bad decisions about something important.”
As a result, it becomes much harder to delay gratification and exercise the level of self-control required to achieve our goals.
Protect Your Brain and Productivity
Your brain isn’t built to multitask and manage the barrage of information it faces on a daily basis.
The best way to protect your brain is to practice single-taking. Focus on one thing at a time and take breaks every hour and half to regain your energy.
Work in a distraction free environment — keep phones and media devices out of sight.
Multitasking feels good, but it isn’t worth your time, energy and certainly, not your brain.

HARD WORK WORKS!
Fail to plan means you are planning to fail. So please do a favour to yourself and make a plan for this year. It is essential that not only do you make a plan, but you implement it, as you need to take action to make things happen! Action is a positive force to help propel you forward! Keep smiling and you will get there!
Learn to be grateful for what you have. Show appreciation to those who have helped you, and thank the people who are going to help you. Above all make an effort each day to make things work for yourself. The more you achieve, the more you will be in a position to reach out to others and help to pull others up as well. That to be is a vital component of your aiming to achieve your goals, is that you include the fact that once you are on the up and up, that you aim to reach out to others and give back to society and to your local communities.
I read an incredible book last year called: "The Soul Millionaire, True wealth is within your reach" by David J Scarlett who started out in the book at the age of 28 being broke and homeless. He was mentored by an amazing man and his family who helped him to get his life back on track and to put a plan together to pay off his debt and to go on to make thousands of dollars. The help was given for free with one proviso: that when he had managed to become successful, that he, in turn would find someone to whom he can help to get back on track. I love this idea and so am aiming to make this business work and then reach out to help others also make a more successful life. On a footnote, apparently David has now written a second book which is due to be released soon! Watch this space!
Back to getting on with making an impact in the world around me, I continue to pursue the option of public speaking. Apparently this is one of the largest fears for most people. Are you scared to speak in public? One of the suggestions I received was to join Toastmasters. I did this last year and to date have delivered six official speeches. Every time I speak I learn more about myself, and continue to gain in confidence. It does not mean that I have now completely conquered my nerves! Far from it, I still worry about what other people think! But I do find that delivering a prepared speech is becoming more fun and not so nerve racking. It is the impromptu speech or the delivery of an evaluation for someone else's speech that I find more challenging! It means that you have to listen very carefully and be constructive and as positive as possible to bring encouragement but also make clear points to help the recipient learn and grow. It is a great way to learn and practice in a safe and friendly environment. I really appreciate my club and all the members who have been so supportive as I continue on my journey!
Now, as we head further into 2019, I am determined to press on and to make as big a steps as I can. i know that all the effort will be worth it, as I fully intend to not only benefit myself, but also my family and my local community! Therefore I am pressing on.
May you also be inspired to make the most of this amazing year. Let 2019 by YOUR year, where you are stepping out with boldness and confidence, and you will achieve all the goals that you set yourself! Have a great boost this January!

IMPLEMENTATION
RIGHT, NOW IT IS THE 12TH JANUARY!
Do you realise that this year is already winging its way towards its close. Don't let time slip away, but keep on top of your goals and make sure that you keep active in you business and stick to the plan!
That is, have you worked out your plan yet? You have now only 353 days if this year left. Get cracking!
It is so easy to get caught up with other things and to procrastinate. Let this now be the year when you stop those activities. Keep things on track and stay true to your goals and vision! It helps sometimes to get another person/friend/business partner to keep you accountable to what you have set out to do. So reach out and contact that person, and ask for their help. You don't have to make it too big and scary, but do look to achieve each step in the time frame that you have set. That way you can stay on track and cross off each goal as you get to it!
So now also look around and see what other courses you can take which will help you to not only be motivated, but will continue to help you grow and develop new ideas. Keep you on your game and also help with networking and mingling with like-minded people!
Last Thursday that is exactly what I did. I attended a free workshop and met up with some fabulous people and made some new contacts. Thoroughly worth it, so am looking forward to more ongoing training as I continue up the learning curve! Some days it seems steeper than others, but the good thing is that every small step takes you further along the journey. The big secrets are: Never Give Up, and Persist!
Therefore I am now persisting every day, not only am I tweeting, posting live on Facebook and trying to keep this blog going, but am also looking to do yet more on social media as I learn more ways to get my message out there! I love seeing the numbers grow and am excited to learn new skills, even though all this techy stuff is still a huge challenge for me! I am still making small steps all the time, which means that since this time last year, I have most definitely made huge changes to my skill mix and to my content!
Therefore it behoves me to press on and to keep on keeping on!! Hence I encourage all you dear followers to do the same! Life is too short to waste! Life is precious and I am determined to make every day count! I just heard an amazing testimony which has spurred me on to realise the urgency of getting the message out there. You never know when you time is up, so make the most of it. Make time to enjoy and have some fun as well. The old maxim: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" is so true!
Take time out to smell the roses, visit the Lavender Farm, get some scents into you! Relax and enjoy Life. Then, when refreshed, hit the road running!
Bless you, have a great year!

This Year 2019, LET THIS BE YOUR YEAR!
Yes, make this Year your best yet!
How, start out with a vision of what you want to achieve by the end of the year.
Map it out, plan to get things done by a certain date.Write a to-do list every day. Cross off the things you have achieved so you get satisfaction from getting the jobs done!
Make an effort to do more, and keep on track.
Don't belittle yourself or whip yourself if you don't get things done.
Refresh and get up and KEEP GOING!
Come on , this is YOUR life we are talking about! I know as I am making these same tasks for myself. I have started to implement things as I mean to carry on for the rest of the year. It all takes time, discipline, commitment and persistence! Determine to Never Give UP!
Take yourself off to a Vision Board Workshop and put your goals and plans into a visualised format, and check on it daily. Remind yourself of your hopes and dreams. Visualising them helps them to become a reality!
Plan out your days, with small, doable steps to perform each day. By making things doable and attainable, you will get things done!
All things are possible with God. He is an awesome God and has plans to help you get to where you feel you want to go, and submit all those things to Him and you will be amazed at how things happen!
The important thing is to keep going!
Let the momentum ball roll!
Have a great year!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS!
Are you serious?
You mean you made some New Year Resolutions? Now its already Day 2 of the Year, have you broken any yet??
The best thing is to write down your resolutions and seriously mean to keep them... make sure they are doable, and that you are stretching yourself, giving yourself a challenge, and then stick to it and fulfil your commitment!
This is the year to really make things happen! I do believe that 2019 is the YEAR of the OVERCOMER and will bring you VICTORY! It is simply a matter of learning and developing your personal relationship with the Lord, working on being humble and seeking His face. Then developing your relationship with Him so that you are understanding a deep and intimate communion with the King of Kings! How awesome is that? He wants to have that kind of relationship with you, for you are precious to Him. Then you can operate from a place of authority as a Child of God!
Having established and are continuing to develop this relationship with your Heavenly Father, you are now in a position to grow more! You are able to minister with love and authority as you know who you are, and you know who He is! As you work on these aspects of your relationship you will grow and develop into a humble, wise and loving person! You will radiate His love and peace, and you will be an ambassador for Him where ever you go!
So this year, let us all look to be renewed in mind, body and spirit. It is the year to take on new mindsets and the ability to grow and change to be a better version. You will watch yourself grow and mature, and you will not be the same person in a few months time. Your rate of growth and development will depend on your personal commitment and determination. Are you ready for growth and change?
Step up to the plate and let us run the race before us! Do not grow weary or be discouraged, there are goals to achieve and people to impact and encourage to grow and change as well!
So may you have an awesome 2019 and let us see what this year brings!
