One of the things we can do is be a voice for those who are not able to raise theirs! We can speak out and tell the world about our thoughts and feelings regarding whatever is stirring up feelings of injustice within those of us who feel so inspired. We can stand up and proclaim to the world that it is
NOT OK TO SUFFER ABUSE
So many people around the world are putting up with maltreatment, and abuse of one kind or another and have no idea that they are not alone, but so many others are going through similar processes. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE!
Why should we/people have to put up with negativity? In this 21st Century have we not learned from our past mistakes? Have we not seen that the negativity of this form of treatment has further ongoing repercussions than we have at first realised? Have we not seen that this generation of single parent families - most of whom lack fathering and nurturing - are lacking in discipline, love and positive roll modelling? Is this perhaps one of the reasons that there is a rise in violence? People are lacking in strong nurturing and loving relationships, so they look elsewhere to fill the gaps? They turn to violence and crime to find a reason and a purpose for their lives, and get in with the "wrong crowd"?
This is a sick and dying world, and the depravity and rottenness that people are sinking to is horrifying. How can we reverse this? What can we do to turn the tide and bring back a sense of decency and honour to those around us? How can we validate the child that has lost or never had a father/mother figure in his/her life? So many.... so many have never known a secure and loving home.
There are many small charities out there that are doing their utmost to stem this tide. They are seeing amazing results, children being raised in a loving and nurturing environment, children being loved and encouraged to learn, to have goals and to aim high. They are but a few, but they are gaining ground. They are seeing lives turned around and positivity being restored. HOPE is alive!
Jackie Pullinger in Hong Kong has had the privilege of seeing many lives turned around from hopelessness and despair, to productive and useful lives. I visited Hong Kong last year and was thrilled to meet up with some of the boys that I had worked with many years ago! They are still having a positive outlook and are themselves reaching out to those in need!
Let's keep HOPE alive and shine!
